WE’RE BAAACK!

Maybe you heard the story - Wash U Public Affairs sent Tumblr an angry letter saying that Wash U Photo Captions was breaking the law. But Wash U Public Affairs was totally blinded from what the law says! My site was protected by Fair Use. So I have been working with the great folks at the StL Volunteer Lawyers and Accountants for the Arts to write this wrong. After 4 months (yes, 4 MONTHS) of lost legal requests and Tumblr incompetence, WE’RE BACK! For example, the official contact number as required by the Digital Milennium Copyright Act is Tumblr’s President’s cell phone. So, when you call it and say, “Hey you took down this website and you shouldn’t have. And you haven’t responded to the legal requests we sent you. And you were legally obliged to return the site by May 13,” you get an executive during his lunch hour. 

But sometimes the end justifies the means. The site is back up despite all the trouble we’ve seen. Keep a lookout for more posts from our new editor.
